Snowman (Снеговик)

       This wonderful winter white postcard from Russian Post boxes series is "Postcard from winter" (Открытка из зимы, ящик Почты России).

       Russian Post released it especially for the event called "the Snowmen on the Flacon", which took place in Moscow on 18-20 December. For three days the visitors of the design factory "Flacon" were creating unusual and original snowmen out of the snow and not only.

       It was allowed to get a postcard free if you made a special picture and uploaded it in social sites with special hashtags and show then to special person in Flacon.

 

Colletors call this postcard shortly - "Snowman" (Снеговик)!

Kinotavr (Кинотавр)

       Let me introduce postcard from Russian Post boxes series - "Postcard 2016"  (Открытка 2016, ящик Почты России).

       Within the Year of Movie Russian Post opened its office on the 27-th festival "Kinotavr" in Sochi. From 6 to 13 June, all the participants and guests of the event could take the advantage of the "Moviepost" by sending friends an exclusive postcard about the festival, or a letter in an envelope with the emblem of the "Kinotavr". It was absolutely free, but only allowed to send postcard in envelop.

 

       Information about Kinotavr: Russian movie festival "Kinotavr", one of the most popular film festivals in our country, traditionally held in Sochi for several years. It takes place in early June and lasts a week. The festival was first organized in 1989 at the initiative of producer Mark Rudinstein and actor Oleg Yankovsky. The main task of "Kinotavr" designated by the organizers,  is presentation of the latest films, support of creative searches of artists and young filmmakers, promotion of Russian cinema, increasing the credibility of cinema and its importance in society and, as a consequence, the real impact on the cinema.

 

We call this postcard - "Kinotavr" (Кинотавр)!

Children of Asia (Дети Азии)

       One more postcard from Russian Post Boxes series is "Postcard 2016" (Открытка 2016, ящик Почты России).

       It was released in July of 2016 year for VI International Sposts Games "Children of Asia" in wonderful city Yakutsk! Everyone could write and send a postcard from the Russian Post desk, set on Komsomolskaya square in Yakutsk during the 7th to 11th of July.

 

      Information about Children and Asia: International sports games "Children of Asia" are held every four years since 1996 in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The games were organized in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the modern Olympic movement on the initiative of the first President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Mikhail Efimovich Nikolaev. In 2012, the year the Games were attended by athletes from 27 Countries.

       About 3 thousand delegates from 38 countries, among which the athletes of Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Bhutan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, China, Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Turkmenistan, Singapore, Syria, Tajikistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Qatar, Macau, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Japan and Ancient Olympia took part In Games of 2016 year.

Shakespeare box (Шекспир)

       This postcard with postal box from series "Postcard 2016" (Открытка 2016, ящик Почты России) was released in 24 of may 2016 in Moscow mansion Saltykov-Chertkovy at the interactive exhibition-allusions "Shakespeare/mystery/400", timed to the 400th anniversary since the death of William Shakespeare.

       Russian Post made an action called "Juliet Post".

       During the exhibition, from may to September of 2016, visitors had a unique opportunity to share their love with Juliet, writing her a message on exclusive postcard and dropping it in an old rosewood box. They could also got an answer from Juliet.

      Russian Post was a partner of the exhibition and ensured timely delivery of all messages to the Club of Juliet located in Verona, which annually receives dozens of thousands of messages from different countries.

 

Collectors call this postcard "Shakespeare box" (Шекспир)!

Welcome to my collection amazing postcard from - South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands!

       South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands (SGSSI) is a British overseas territory in the southern Atlantic Ocean. It is a remote and inhospitable collection of islands, consisting of South Georgia and a chain of smaller islands known as the South Sandwich Islands. South Georgia is 165 kilometres long and 1 to 35 km wide and is by far the largest island in the territory. The South Sandwich Islands lie about 700 kilometres southeast of South Georgia.The territory's total land area is 3,903 square kilometres. The Falkland Islands are about 1,300 km north-west from its nearest point.

       Most of the islands, rising steeply from the sea, are rugged and mountainous. At higher elevations, the islands are permanently covered with ice and snow.

       There is no permanent population on the islands. The present inhabitants are the British Government Officer, Deputy Postmaster, scientists, and support staff from the British Antarctic Survey who maintain scientific bases at Bird Island and at the capital, King Edward Point, as well as museum staff at nearby Grytviken.
